Content or Dis-Content, “Which Tent Do You Live In”

Eld. Jaime Stacy

Content Or Discontent, “Which Tent Do You Live In”.

And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai; Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first:and there Abram called on the name of the Lord.
And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.
Genesis 13:1–6

Christian character is generally hidden overshadowed by christian talent and gifts in the church today. We tend to be so drawn in to ones talents and yet decided by or choose to overlook ones character.

Learning to be content with the things of this world still speaks to and reveals a persons character. When we allow ourselves to love the things of this world more then the one who gives us the things, then we have lost focus and purpose in who we are and whose we are. To have a lust for the things of this world or an uncontrollable desire for material wealth. Exposes our inner weakness and insecurity regarding our self worth and how we choose to be defined.

Which Tent Do You Live In

When we are able to learn in no matter what place or social status I find myself in. To still be Content with who I am and the person that God has made me. That shows inner strength and maturity and a person that draws their happiness from within, and not determined by or contingent upon what their surroundings are saying or dictating.
