Necie Howard

Children’s Ministry Director

My name is Necie Howard. I’m originally from Sikeston, Missouri. I was raised in a single parent home by my mother (Jennette) with 2 sisters (Mikki and Jaime) and a brother (Jeremiah). My mother later adopted my cousin (Amber). I have been married 20 years to my husband, Gerald. I have 4 beautiful children. My daughter Nesha is 20, my son Quinton is 14, and my twins, Jarelle and JaNese are 9.

I received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus name when I was 8 years old. My family was members of the same church for over 20 years. At the age of 12, I began playing the drums for our services. A few years later, I was appointed to the position of Sunday School teacher. I taught ages 6-8 for several years.

In the year 2000, my family relocated to Spokane, WA where we were members of the Pentecostals of Spokane, under the leadership of Pastor Andrew B. King. In the year 2010 my husband and I felt God leading us in a different direction. During that time, he led us to Jesus Is The Answer Church, where Pastor Shon L. Davis is the Overseer.  While under his leadership, my ministry has grown in a way I never thought possible.

Not only am I teaching Sunday School, but I’m the Sunday School Superintendent; I’m also a member of the church choir. Years ago I realized that I can put on an old dress and wig and make people laugh. Before there was Tyler Perry’s “Madea” there was who I called “Sis. Cantaloupe”. After relocating to Jesus Is the Answer, I changed my characters name to “Sis. Velma”. I’ve had the opportunity to perform several times at different events.

Teaching children is my passion. I love what I do. I love the look in their eyes when I’m teaching. I love capturing their minds and instilling Christ in their lives. I know that it’s something I will do for years. I just pray that God will continue to use me and that I will be obedient to his will.
