Overcoming the Public’s Opinion

Minister Gaye Hallman

It appears to be difficult to the ones who refuse to accomplish what is placed inside of them either by lack of confidence, fear of failure, others not believing in them and close friends and family saying you will never be nothing or saying it will never happen you might as well give up now. Hearing this type of negativity in your life takes a lot from within you, you began not to believe in yourself although this gift is tugging at your heart daily to accomplish it. What do you do when you don’t believe in yourself or feel it’s not in you to do? When it comes to allowing God to direct our path, we find ourselves in unfamiliar territory, in a confused state of mind. We know that God can do anything but fail, yet we can’t find ourselves to believe that he will do a great work in us. For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you, ‟ says the Lord, „plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

For you formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13) Before we were born God spoke purpose, He knew we would feel inadequate at times and would want to run, but what God has planted in us keeps us closer to him; he wants us to rely on him for all things. Speak (I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me). For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2Timothy 1:7). Many times we hear that scripture spoken, over and over again and quoted but is it exercised as often as spoken by many? These are not just mere words that are spoken, they are life, it is not just a scripture it is a way of life,

We often find ourselves seeking others opinion of us because of the uncertainty in ourselves looking for validation to continue moving forward or making the decision of allowing it to be incomplete. He has a purpose for you and He will direct your work in truth and He will make an everlasting covenant with you. (Isaiah 62:8). I know the cross we bare symbolizes pain, but to become what God has planted in us, we must continue and walk out the process of growth that may Intel intimidation, criticism, betrayal, and sometimes being ignored, lied on, talked about and getting embarrassed when you thought you had everything under control. Although the public’s opinion of you striped you to pain, don’t allow that pain to place you in a position to question God of whom he has called you to be. When we are crushed we feel we have no more to give, but that’s when the purest form of you emerges. Your heart is broken. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. (Psalm 34:18). Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivered him out of them all.

We are to overcome the public’s opinion; it is a tactic of the enemy that will try to silence our voice because of their own insecurities. God gives us the oil of joy instead of mourning, The garment expressive of praise instead of a disheartened spirit. So they will be called the trees of righteousness strong and magnificent, distinguished for integrity, justice, and right standing with God, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. (Isaiah 62:3)
